TINCUP RETREAT RECAP
October 1–4 brought us together in Tincup, Colorado for time in the mountains, shared meals, and meaningful conversation.
The weekend centered around Mirror Lake, hiking, a quick polar plunge, disc golf, and the 3rd Annual Balance Cup Horseshoe Tournament. Around the dinner table and the fire, we made room for honest conversations about pride, legacy, and the next chapter of our lives.
Time to disconnect, be ourselves, and connect with each other.
WEEKEND FLOW
THURSDAY, OCT 1 | Arrive + Land
Arrival was by 5:30pm, with an earlier arrival welcome. At 6pm, we gathered for a short opening and quick introductions.
Dinner at 6:30pm led into our first Jeffersonian conversation:
“What's something you're proud of from this past year that almost nobody knows about?”
After dinner, we played cards and continued the conversation around the fire.
FRIDAY, OCT 2 | Mirror Lake Day
Breakfast and coffee at 8:30am eased us into the day. At 10:30am, we headed up to Mirror Lake for a mellow 3–4 mile loop, rotating hiking partners along the way.
At about 11,000 feet in early October, the water was very cold. The swim was a quick polar plunge—in and out—followed by a potluck lunch at the lake.
The afternoon included disc golf, with extra discs provided, and a walk through the Tincup cemetery.
Dinner at 6:30pm brought our second Jeffersonian conversation:
“What do you hope people say about you someday, and are you living like it now?”
Cards and more conversation around the fire closed out the evening.
SATURDAY, OCT 3 | Balance Cup Day
We started with breakfast and coffee at 8:30am, then a morning walk at 9:30am with rotations. Midday was for lunch and free time.
The afternoon featured the 3rd Annual Balance Cup Horseshoe Tournament. Bracket style, with a literal tin cup as the trophy.
At 6:30pm, dinner led into our third Jeffersonian conversation:
“What do you want the next chapter of your life to feel like, and what's in the way?”
The night finished with outdoor fire hangs and a special surprise dessert.
SUNDAY, OCT 4 | Close + Carry It Home
Breakfast and coffee at 7:30am were followed by a 20-minute closing circle at the table.
At 8:30am, we cleaned the cabin together and took group photos. By 9am, it was time to roll out.
